Account opening

1. Does SYWG accept online application?
Unfortunately, we do not have online application. You can only make application by visiting our branch in person.

2.Can I open an account without visiting branch in person?
Since our licensed Account Executive must be witnessing the whole application progress, you can only applying by visiting branches in person. If you are unable to visit our branch within office hour, please contact customer service hotline (852) 2250 8298 for any special arrangement.

3. If I am not a Hong Kong resident, can I open account in SYWG?
Yes, we are welcome for non Hong Kong residents to use our services. Please contact our customer hotline (852) 2250 8298 for more information.

4. Do I need to pay any application fees? Is there any initial deposit requirement?
We do not have charges and initial deposit requirement on new account application.

5. Can I open joint name account?
Yes, we accept joint name account application. Either one of the account holders can place buy or sell order, the withdraw instruction; however, must be signed by all members.

6. Which kind of document is requested on my account application?
If you are a client from Mainland China, please provide ID card, valid passport and address proof (issued within latest 3 months). Otherwise, please provide your HKID or passport and address proof (issued within latest 3 months).

7. What are the procedures to open account?
i) Please complete the application forms and cross out improper parts with our licensed Account Executive witness.
ii) Please read the declaration, terms and conditions carefully, if having any question, please ask our staffs for more detail.
iii) Please provide requested documents for procedure. For more detail please refer to FAQ question 6.

8. Can I have both Cash and Margin accounts on the same time?
Unfortunately, you can only hold either one type of account.

9. Which I should pay extra attention on my application?
In order to protect our clients, instructions will be frustrated if the signature cannot be verified, so we suggest clients please remember his/her specimen signature.

10. How long does it take to open account?
In general, application progress takes 2-3 working days after we have received your valid application with all requested documents. You will receive our confirmation letter after related procedures are completed.
